LA

What is the purpose of information? - To reduce
uncertainty (P. Drucker). How
do you wade through the hundreds of popular tequila blancos, reposados and
anejos? You research and taste
various 100% pure agave tequilas. If
there is any doubt and you are uncertain after trying the typical Patron,
Souza and Jose Cuervo labels, make sure you try La Certeza
(“Certainty”) Tequila. La
Certeza brings together three of the leading families in the spirits
industry: the Beckmanns- former co-owners of Jose Cuervo, the Boissets- a
Burgandian family celebrated for their terroir, and the La Certeza family-
close group of tequila artisans who combine generations of experience.
Grown on 3500 acre Beckmann Estate and the same way
for the past 200 years, the blue agave used in La Certeza is grown from
the seedlings of the plants on the estate insuring each generation (7
years) of agave plants are identical to the previous year insuring the
same quality year after year. The
tequila is double-distilled in the traditional
Cognac
stills and aged in Bourbon barrels for rich smoothness.
Part of the tequila experience is how the liquor is delivered.
In the past, tequila was portrayed as a macho drink of heroic
rancheros and soldiers before they went to war.
Tequila has evolved into a sophisticated drink for all.
La Certeza comes in an elegant classy bottle with an elegant tuxedo
like black label. After pouring a little blanco into a bourbon sniffer
glass, I followed the smooth rich tequila with Sangrita.
Although I usually enjoy tequila in its natural straight form, you
can blend it with vermouth and make an ice cooled Martini.
